2008 Montana State University Youth Horsemanship School

Tentative Dates: June 23-27, 2008
Location: Montana State University Teaching & Research Facility, Bozeman, MT
Cost: Please contact Julie Hager for more information at 406-994-7953

The school is based on the belief that learning is best achieved in a hands-on environment. The focus is on being an educational school rather than a camp atmosphere. Students will spend the majority of their time in the morning and afternoon riding. When the students are not riding, they are required to attend workshops. These workshops cover equine and related topics. Previous workshops have included: safety, roping, first aid and vet care, showing & grooming, ground work, trail riding/obstacles, rodeo events, and more. The school is self-supporting, and there is a continuous effort to keep the cost low so the school will be available to all youth in Montana. Each student must provide their own horse, western tack, and equipment.
